SCHOLARSHIPS

Please note:  POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 31, 2018.
Late applications will not be accepted.

ATU SCHOLARSHIP 2017-2018 is in memory of Thomas Clement "Tommy" Douglas.

Tommy Douglas
Passed away on February 24, 1986, a Baptist Minister and champion boxer, he left the pulpit for a political platform.  A powerful orator and tireless activist, he was elected to serve as a member of Saskatchewan's Parliament, and later, Premier of the province - an office he held for 17 years. He introduced the continent's first single-payer, Universal health care program, a program that would eventually be adopted across Canada.

We hope the recipients of this year's scholarship, named in his honor, will use them in part to study union and community organizing, and grow to fight injustices everywhere.

This year, the program will consist of five scholarships each in the amount of $8000. In addition, a $2000, scholarship may be awarded to a technical or vocational school applicant.

All deadlines will be strictly enforced.

POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 31, 2018.
